Proof of Concept

With the first towing tests off Monfalcone (northern Adriatic Sea), the team around Peter Steinkogler was able to confirm the functioning of the hydrodynamics on the V-REX. The buoyancy caused by the hydrofoils already at speeds of 9 knots and visibly lifting the V-REX out of the water thus confirm the computational models and CFD simulations.

Only during the sail tests are the stabilization surfaces brought into the characteristic V-angle position and the water ballast tank then also no longer touches the water.
